Episode 1: What's in a Name?

Searching or developing a name for a so called flick is always hard. In the beginning i adored the idea of "I Wouldnt Normally Produce a Film" (our first film, for those of you playing at home) it was cute, tacky and straight to the point. After a while it annoyed me though - too many syllables, way too long for a clever accronym, alas we had to stick to our guns.

Shack City - the new film. Again this is another attempt to play on those old surfie dude sayings. One particular conversation springs to mind. Late one afternoon Russ and I jumped out of the car at pipe carpark to be greeted by local Kneeboarder Adam Williams - your typical old school surf rat rebel/story teller/full of claims/crazy philosophies and old school phrases. I frikin dig the old phrases - and use a variety when describing the last wave i took off on to the crew on the peak - "Smokin", "Cracker", "Tube town", "Glory hole", "Green Room". However this particular day when i questioned him as to how the surf was he replied quote - "Get the hell out there boys its Shack City out there". Needless to say we loved it. Maybe because the idea of Shack City itself humours me whenever i say it but i just love the idea of a place ful of these so called "shacks".

Here is what i believe is an adequate description of "SHACK CITY" - A place where the amount of tubes is in equal proportion to the number of humans who live in a city at any one time.
